I’m a geoscientist, specialized on geochemistry, petrology and economic geology. Currently, I’m also a doctoral student, working on a better understanding of all relevant thermodynamic and hydrothermal processes that play a key role in the development and formation of sediment-hosted Pb-Zn deposits as well as epithermal Ag-Au-As-Sb deposits. For this purpose, a new internally-consistent thermodynamic-geochemical model for the hydrothermal transport of Pb-Zn-Ag-Au-As-Sb will be built with GEMS and GEMSFITS. I’m particulary interested in the application of the newly developed model, constrained by the geochemical and thermodynamical characteristics of the already mentioned hydrothermal deposits.
In addition, I’m also very interested in the development of Python-based software tools that can be used for geoscientific research and education. PySILLS and GebPy are two examples of those software projects. PySILLS is a newly developed open source tool for the data reduction of LA-ICP-MS experiments and its trace element analysis of minerals, fluid and melt inclusions. GebPy is a generator of synthetic geochemical and geophysical data of minerals, rocks and entire sequences.
Furthermore, I’m interested in concepts and ideas that improve our current academic education as well as the visibility and popularity of geosciences in general.
